SwiftUI & TCAArchitecture to App Store

Hello, I’m Kyle.
Principal architect and iOS engineer with sixteen years in production: SwiftUI and TCA on the device, TypeScript, Swift, and Go services on PostgreSQL and SQLite behind it, and the tooling that keeps all of it shipping.

SwiftUI & TCAArchitecture to App Store

Aaron Paul’s catchphrase,
shipped as an app.
He recorded the lines. I built the iOS app that sent them to your friends, and it was covered by The Verge, Mashable, and dozens more.
The app, the web,
and everything behind them.
I rebuilt the iOS app in SwiftUI and TCA, built the backend and the infrastructure that runs it, and rebuilt the web app in Next.js. All three are in production.

One API, two workers, PostGIS, and the path to production.
Repo-native change memory for coding agents: decisions, invariants, and implementation history kept next to the code.
Self-contained HTML documents for plans, specs, and decisions, with a review loop that agents can read back.

02 About
My core is native Apple development with Swift and SwiftUI, with deep experience in iOS architecture and The Composable Architecture.
In sixteen years of building software, I’ve rebuilt the Embrace iOS app as its sole developer, led the Objective-C to Swift rewrite at Leafly, and shipped at Dropbox, where my accessibility work was featured at WWDC.
At AspectAvy, I rebuilt the iOS app in SwiftUI, rebuilt the web app, and built the backend and infrastructure, with all three now in production. My work also spans TypeScript and Swift services, Go where it fits, PostgreSQL and SQLite, the Docker and Caddy that run them, and AI integrations. Based in Hamilton, Ohio, I work remotely as a principal architect and full-stack developer, taking products from architecture through production.

03 How I work
iOS development with deep roots in SwiftUI and The Composable Architecture, plus Android when the product calls for it. Modular codebases, real test coverage, and a release pipeline that runs without me watching it.
APIs, real-time services, and full-stack web applications. Authentication, multi-tenant data, and the infrastructure and deploy tooling that keep a product running.
AI integrations, on-device models, and developer tools with typed boundaries and deterministic fallbacks, including the open-source SwiftLLM, Ledger, and Dossier.
04 Career
Selected roles since 2010. Sole iOS engineer three times over, one team-wide rewrite, and an independent practice that is still running.
Full work historyRebuilt the entire iOS application from the ground up as sole developer in SwiftUI and The Composable Architecture.
Hands-on engineering and technical advisory for select clients: native iOS apps, backend platforms, and developer tooling, alongside my own products and open-source work.
Embedded with Lululemon implementing features and optimizing a high-traffic consumer iOS app used by millions.
Led a full Objective-C to Swift rewrite using ReSwift, MVVM, DI, and TDD; partnered with IDEO on the UI.
Sole engineer building the entire sports-data app from scratch in pure Swift with a real-time data pipeline.
Joined via the CloudOn acquisition; shipped production features; accessibility work featured by Apple at WWDC.

05 Client notes
Kyle built our entire business infrastructure from the ground up in record time, and the quality far exceeded our expectations. An outstanding full-stack engineer who executes at an exceptionally high level. I'd trust him to lead the technical direction of any product without hesitation.
I've shipped two full products with Kyle start to finish. Strong work ethic, real talent, and genuinely independent. He's pulled off everything I've thrown at him UI and UX wise, gets what I'm going for as a designer, and ships it on the front end with flair. I always want Kyle on the product team, and so far I'm two for two.
